Eldorado Emerson is a learning community, supporting the needs of all students,
honoring their unique set of learning and developmental characteristics, promoting
each student's maximum potential in a culture founded on personal relationships
and respect. We offer students educational, social, and artistic opportunities to
develop into lifelong learners who value both intelligence and imagination.
The first rule is to "take care of everything and everybody." Students of all races,
creeds, cultures, ethnicity, and religions participate in this supportive environment.
Our vision is shared by a dedicated, experienced group of educators and an involved
parent community. All work together to foster literate, lifelong learners who can
function effectively and contribute to a diverse, technological, and ever-changing
society.
Dr. Glory Ludwick, the school's keystone for 50 years, incorporated this school
on January 17, 1958. She believes each child is unique, and teachers should work
with kids as individuals. This means presenting the proper material in accordance
with the particular child's stage of development. The philosophy of doing each year
what the child’s brain is ready for is one of the foundations of the school.
"Dr. Ludwick has created a pleasant and stimulating environment for learning," said
Mr. Sean Kelley, a veteran teacher of twelve years. "Students here are happy. They
love their school, their teachers, their classes and their friends. But most of
all, they love Dr. Ludwick and appreciate all she has given."
Dr. Ludwick created a school with a positive environment so children could learn
joyously while preparing themselves for productive lives.
A Wondrous Place
Where, loving parents send their eager children
To learn skills and ways of being:
Where, caring teachers greet them daily,
Joyously nurturing their love of learning:
Where, students delight in mastering
Skills they will need for further learning:
Where, the thrill of knowing satisfies natural
curiosity,
Even as the thrill of mystery surrounds the unknowable:
Where, students can mature, developing
Disciplined Freedom,
Caring Responsibility and
Mutually Supportive Relating.
